I have been slacking a bit on dev time lately, but finally squeezed in a small update!
Added breakable objects that can drop loot.
The system is fully generic, so adding more breakables later should be a breeze!

Enemies now have health bars! 💀
They can drop loot, and the player can pick it up.
The mysterious red book will restore 1 HP when collected. ❤️📖

Goblins are back! Enemy movement has been fine-tuned, and the player can finally fight back.

I’m now back to where I was before switching to turn-based — time to start making real progress again!

New update to the turn-based system! ⚔️

Enemies now wander and take their turns right after yours. The player can also skip a turn. Maybe to prevent walking directly into an attack.

In this clip, you’ll see a rat patiently (and lethally) take advantage of my skipped turns.

Small update from the demo:

I’ve switched to turn-based grid movement. Nothing flashy — just trying to make the gameplay a bit more manageable and tactical.

The rats wander around until they notice you 👀🐀, then they chase. Player and enemies move one tile at a time.

It’s a tiny change, but it already feels a little more like the game I want to make. Slowly building it, one step at a time.

❌ Changing direction.

After a week on this demo, I realized it’s just not fun to make or play.

So I’m pivoting to a turn-based roguelike — slower pace, more tactics, less chaos.

I’d rather build something I enjoy than something that burns me out.

New direction starts today. ⚔️

Update #4 for my roguelike demo!

Fixed a bunch of behind-the-scenes bugs today — smoother animations, better enemy collisions, and a new red flash when taking damage.

Not much new to show, but it all feels way better to play. Progress is slow (an hour a day if I’m lucky), but steady! ⚔️💀

Player can now attack goblins, and they can die… but watch out - they can respawn!
Also added a subtle screen shake when taking damage.
