@blag I’ve been following and enjoying your posts, and even though this is not the lettering theme that you cover, I thought you may be interested.

This is a book on the lettering and signs painted on the walls during the riots of 2019-2020 in Chile. From this visual research, three fonts were developed: Evade, Despertar y Barucho.

The book has a number of die cuts for stencils revealing the pages with the wall pictures.

I read this fascinating article on a DIY medium-format rangefinder camera, that includes the building process, and immediately thought about @mattblaze and how would he feel about taking pictures with it.

¿La IA está matando tu capacidad de diseño? El artículo de Nico Dekens advierte sobre cómo la automatización erosiona el pensamiento crítico en OSINT y se aplica a UX perfectamente. https://lnkd.in/euPtVCez Como diseñador UX, veo tres peligros claros: 1. La IA nos hace vagos cognitivos, lo que lleva a perder el contexto humano. Los modelos de IA suelen homogeneizar insights basados en patrones estadísticos, ignorando matices culturales o necesidades específicas. Un diseñador que confíe en IA para mapear journeys podría pasar por alto microinteracciones críticas observables solo en pruebas de usabilidad presenciales. 2. Validar = Creer, o el peligro de la ilusión de validación El estudio de 2025 que cita Nico muestra algo clave: si la IA produce un heatmap o el análisis limpio de un funnel, asumimos que es correcto. Pero ¿cuántas veces has visto métricas que contradicen lo que viste en testeos presenciales? Es indispensable cuestionar y verificar lo que asume la IA con resutados de investigación cualitativa reales. 3. La muerte del "por qué", y la atrofia de habilidades profesionales fundamentales La IA resuelve rápido, pero no cuestiona. Si le pides alternativas de navegación, te dará opciones basadas en patrones existentes. ¿Dónde queda la innovación disruptiva? ¿Estás generando conocimiento para el negocio o aplicando patrones de diseño a ciegas?, Esto crea profesionales dependientes de herramientas sin comprensión profunda de los principios subyacentes. Antes vs ahora con IA Antes: Sketching manual con post-its. — Ahora: wireframes automáticos que nadie cuestiona. Antes: User interviews con pausas incómodas. — Ahora: Transcripts generados que ocultan aspectos clave. Antes: A/B testing con hipótesis propias. — Ahora: Optimizaciones basadas en correlaciones dudosas| Para contrarrestarlo, aplica 3 estrategias que propone Nico: - Hazle bullying a la IA: Pídele a ChatGPT que critique tu propio diseño, luego desmonta sus argumentos. Ej: "¿Por qué este CTA es una mierda?" ,"propón tres alternativas que rompan nuestros patrones actuales" - Verificación en capas: Contrastar insights de herramientas como Hotjar AI con métodos etnográficos tradicionales - Hibridación consciente: Reservar fases clave (ej: definición del problema) para el pensamiento humano no asistido Checklist de Nico adaptado: ✅ ¿Verifiqué los insights de la IA con al menos una fuente humana? ✅ ¿Hice yo mismo el primer sketch antes de usar autodiseño? ✅ ¿La solución propuesta rompe con lo que ya existe? La IA es como un practicante superdotado pero inocente: acelera el trabajo, pero sin tu criterio, terminarás diseñando para la máquina, no para personas. ¿Sigues confiando en la IA o ya empezaste a cuestionarla?
