Hey U.S., please see:

Getting rid of a president sending troops against his own citizens is possible. And getting him into jail for his crime too...

Is anyone else feeling this massive shift to #kde lately? It seems like several distros and variants have announced they are moving to KDE just within the last few months.

You don't need to pay Apple or start a new subscription to unleash your creativity. We asked creatives what free software they use to get the job done and here are their picks.

@wrightca amazing list! I will have to get some of these added.

I will add a few more below, but this one was shared by a coworker. This is a great post.

Hey maybe the AI can fuck you, too

Microsoft Office has been replaced by "Microsoft 365 Copilot App" 🙄 (not a joke, see office.com)

Fortunately there are many good alternatives on the Fediverse:

➡️ @libreoffice - Free open source office suite, can be used entirely offline
➡️ @CollaboraOffice - Online fork of LibreOffice, upstream contributor
➡️ @nextcloud - FOSS personal cloud including collaborative office tools
➡️ @CryptPad - FOSS online office suite with maximum privacy

Happy New Year!!!

I wanted to get some interactions from people this month.

I recently deployed a #miniflux instance to take back my newsfeed, kind of.

What I want from all of you are sites that you do, or would add to your own #RSS. Tech is preferred, but open to any sites.

Dear contributors to projects I work on,

If you are programming with LLMs under the assumption that they will fill in the gaps in your own abilities, I can assure you that they will not. I prefer to not spend my time reviewing code you submit that you do not understand.

Thank you,
Jeremy

Linux is good now. The author had enough of Windows and Microsoft shenanigans. I'm brave enough to say it: Linux is good now, and if you want to feel like you actually own your PC, make 2026 the year of Linux on (your) desktop

Now if you don't mind I'm going to delete the root folder and see what happens.

if you use medical devices, humidifiers, or anything that benefits from distilled water.. maybe consider getting a still. there's a $60 vevor that does a gallon in threeish hours @750W.

my humidifier wick seems to last about 3x longer and my CPAP evap chamber is gathering basically no scale.

based on electric prices, distilled water costs, humidifier wick costs, etc - the $60 still pays for itself in about 4 months @ $0.29/gal

edit: added a pic, it just looks like a kitchen appliance
