Today, Uli Jon Roth’s Beyond The Astral Skies started playing.

So much melodrama, and I am here for it.

I know the album isn’t for everyone, but I love it.

Made the 3 hour trek to my son’s university on Thursday. Stayed in a hotel. Moved him into his dorm room on Friday morning. We had some parent school stuff to do on Saturday, then drove home. He was so busy on Saturday with group stuff we did not get to say goodbye in person.

He FaceTimed us on Saturday just before he headed off to dinner. Such a nice young man.

Pretty emotional stuff. I have a lot of feels right now in this empty house.

The dog knew something was different:

I was looking through some old pictures.

I found an envelope with a bunch of photos of one of my guitar heroes, Frank Marino.

He played in the town I lived in around 1982. I did not have enough money for a ticket, but a friend of mine took photos and so now I have these:

One of the guitars I did NOT sell went back into rotation today. Not sure why it had been unplayed for quite some time.

I took the time to change the strings and put on what I use now. Slightly thicker and hence a full intonation pass was needed. Cleaned things up, polished the frets and upgraded some of the parts to titanium. Looks quite nice given they are on black parts.

Also, Red Bishop tremolo arms are a huge upgrade.
