@Sempf Visual Studio proper is no more I think. VSCode is still on MacOS. My IDE of choice is Webstorm or PyCharm. I have to admit I don’t know if Xcode does split screen markdown.

@Sempf IDE most of the time. Otherwise I use the Bear.App notes app, it formats the markdown as you are typing it. I don’t think there’s a comes-with-the-OS option.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I updated my phone to iOS 26. The different icons took a while to get used to, but I didn’t understand what all the hate for Liquid Glass was all about. It was fine.

But then work updated my MacOS to liquid glass too. It’s fugly and doesn’t make sense. It makes the original MaxOS X Aqua interface look good in comparison. But it seems livable.

Two days ago I updated my iPad. Holy crap. The cognitive dissonance in the UI is just… really exhausting. The iPad form factor is neither small screen phone or big screen desktop. It appears to suffer all the problems of both of those things on the iPad.

What interface is next, #Apple ? Flowing Mercury, all shiny and chrome?

I have a 32oz french press for making coffee. I put the coffee in a 32oz travel mug of the type with a small base to fit on auto cup holders. One day after making a fresh cup of 200 degree coffee, I accidentally poured the whole thing off the edge of my desk on to my stomach and thigh. Gave myself second and third degree burns. I spent 6 days in the hospital burn unit, and had surgery to debride the wounds and apply synthetic skin. Now I have 2 short 16oz travel mugs that are wider than they are tall.
