I cancelled Disney+ today. We need to send a message that there are financial consequences for caving to government demands to curtail freedom of speech.

Wordpress plans to bake “Al” into core. I’m skeptical by default, but sentences like “Instead of collaborating in real time with people, why not collaborate with Al?” definitely don’t help.

The stories in this headline are entirely in the wrong order.
Washington Examiner, you need to talk to your headline writer — they seem confused about the meaning of words “faith” and “leaders”
Whoever writes these statements from the DOJ should be careful about using words the President doesn’t understand.

Every so often, I come across a comment or post that feels like the good old internet.

It's not the most hilarious thing ever, but something about it made me feel like it was 2002 again.

Found this interesting juxtaposition of images on Pixelfed this morning.
I was surprised a the coincidental similarities. If you don't see what I see, check out the alt text for my full description.

Another movie I watched this weekend was Suzume, an original anime about a teenage girl who gets swept up in a mission to travel across Japan and close a series of magical doorways that threaten to let a great evil pass from the spirit realm into the living world.

It was directed by Makoto Shinkai, who also directed Weathering With You (which I own) and Your Name (which I have heard of but not seen).

Over the weekend, I watched the movie Colossal (2016). You should watch it if you can. It is almost impossible to describe without spoiling it, but to convince people to see it I'll say that it's a darkly comedic story about a big city girl returning to her hometown — and also there are kaiju.

It's free (with ads) on Tubi, and that's actually the ONLY place you can currently watch it digitally. I bought a used copy on Blu-Ray to make sure I can still see it in the future.

Keep those hot takes coming, Scott.
