@grote on the one hand, I'm glad they budged at all. But on the other, what the heck Google?? This will still dramatically reduce the number of users and developers interested in foss on android (a foss operating system btw) while letting them say "well we didn't stop you hurr durr". Quite annoying.

Is there a word for taxi/rideshare drivers who can't seem to keep their pedal foot still? Like the ones who are constantly down-off-down-off, causing the car to lurge nauseatingly? If there isn't, there definitely should be.

@brettcannon a much better decision would be to stop taxing Americans abroad. But I'm sure this will be a welcome change for those Americans who simply wish to cut ties with a country whose influence on them likely grows less and less positive by the day.

Genuinely enlightening. This helped me understand why the same coworkers of mine who insist that AI is the best thing ever (while simultaneously finding no viable use cases for it in their work, and not for lack of trying) are often also those who excuse our organizations systemic incompetence whenever I bring it up.

@yurisizov I've looked into it more since I made that comment and I'll admit that I was wrong. With the context I now have, it's clear to me that DF were gassing a technology that they instead should have given much more scrutiny.
