PronounsI use he/him (or il/lui when I try to write French) but they (or iel) is fine too.
From Wikipedia "on this day" section.
I hear @dan likes beans. This is the start of a delicious, warming pot of baked beans. Makes four 14-oz servings (Joanne Chang's recipe from FLOUR, TOO). (Other ingredients are brown sugar, molasses, cider vinegar, salt, tomato paste, and water; I added a bit of epazote but not enough to taste.)
Today in the smallest room of the house…
I have this little file called `UEFI-CONV` in my home directory and wondering if I still need to keep it. I think the last few remaining CSM-based machines have broken UEFI implementations and will never get converted until they're replaced. #FreeBSD #UEFI
What are we to make of this graph? 1000 RNAs/ml is still a lot of circulating virus, but five years in, we're not seeing those spikes like we have every other winter since 2022. (Data in printed-out-spreadsheet form at https://www.mwra.com/media/file/mwradata20260112-datapdf). #COVID
Books acquired in 2025 (a pretty dismal haul) (does not include titles in the Hugo voter's packet):
Here's the BOM for this recipe (baked in a 9x13 pan, allegedly makes 20 but I haven't sliced them yet, and I used more expensive ingredients than shown here):
Is there any conclusion we can draw from this at this point, other than "winter of 21-22 was *really* bad"?
Because it's a quiet week (other than commencement, but I'm working from home), I spent some time working on modeling the #MBTA Framingham/Worcester Line using the Japanese mesoscale scheduling solver "rwsolver". I have a workable (as in, Z3 doesn't say "unsatisfied") model with one zone express and one Framingham local every 45 minutes, but haven't managed to squeeze it down to 30 yet. A more legible (large!) PDF is at https://bimajority.org/~wollman/worcester-zone_ri.pdf
The long tail of a fresh #FreeBSD package build (package set for my desktops and the build server itself):
