I'm a resident of Marietta, the opposition is local and we're pissed that this conflict of interest even exists. There is a risk to our water as well as making our county a dumping grounds for fracking waste. The brine waste and industrial trucks speed down our streets spewing soot. This is not an industry good for anyone except the owners of the disposal companies and those in fracking (hydraulic fracturing) industries.

Ohio senator’s fracking waste business is ‘dangerous’ for drinking water, Marietta council president says

Marietta is fighting a fifth fracking waste injection well planned near its drinking water source. The conflict got personal at GOP meeting.

I've been lending with Local for over a decade. I love that there are clean energy and sanitation filters to make the lives of those in need healthier for themselves and the planet. Check out this solar kit lending opportunity. Starting with $25 you can support one lending project, I challenge you to lend to this or another project on Kiva.

Can you help Jonathan Brier support Peninah?

Kiva is a loan, not a donation. With Kiva you can lend as little as $25 and make a big change in someone's life.

Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Corner: The future my daughter lost and how we get it back

2025 is … the year the government of the United States turned its back on science. … the year I became a dad. … the future my daughter should have seems to be more of a dream now. I am not going to lie down and let this future slip away from her, nor should […]

I wish we would act rationally and grow less corn for energy and add a little solar on each farm with corn for ethanol near power lines. Common sense (and math) shows this should balance economic risk for farms. It's not farm land for food, it's already focused on energy crops?

New study compares growing corn for energy to solar production. It’s no contest.

In fact, it would require about 31 hectares of corn ethanol to produce the same amount of energy generated by one hectare of land covered in solar panels.

What is the status of driving an RV vs ICE vehicle in the USA. The short is we've come a long way and if you care about emissions, they're a no brainer. #driveelectricearthmonth

Not many people know what the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service does or why their work matters. Join me in checking out this Vox interview with Martha Williams, former director of USFWS! #earthmonth2025

Trump’s job cuts at this overlooked agency put every American at risk

Probationary employees at the Fish and Wildlife Service were laid off, weakening US protections for endangered species and their ecosystems we rely on.

#earthday is this month and thinking what can we do to produce our electricity cleaner... The next steps are definitely not mandating coal to run when uneconomical. If you live in one of the 13 states managed by regional transmission coordinator #PJM then get up to speed on what is going on and speak up for clean energy. A good overview with linked articles to dive into the topics from Canary Media:

Why coal won’t solve the looming grid-reliability crisis

New solar, wind, and batteries could be a huge help to grid reliability. Instead, Trump is propping up a false solution: old, unprofitable coal plants.

A cool replacement for the plastic pharmacy orange medicine containers. Tully Tubes are paper and still child resistant and hold up to temp and water... Hope we see these adopted by pharmacies ASAP. #BeyondPlastics
