Pitch your plan before 23 October
Upon request, we are reopening the opportunity to submit plans for the 49m² project. During the Pitch your Plan meeting on 11 September, we received some excellent proposals, but for those who were unable to attend that day, there is still the opportunity to submit a proposal digitally. Those selected will then be placed on the longlist for future seasons (2027/2028).

The Onkruidenier (Jonmar van Vlijmen, Rosanne van Wijk, Ronald Boer) reimagines the future of human-nature relationships. Through GRASSROOTS: Seeds for (x)change, they explore how grasses carry global questions about food, migration, climate and care – and invite us to listen more closely to the ground beneath our feet.

Maud van den Beuken investigates porous spaces between land, sky and water. Collaborating with scientists, engineers and policy makers in the fields of physics, water management and cartography, she reflects on these disciplines in poetic ways.

She is currently 49m² artist-in-residence.

"Public space is what happens between soil and clouds." Letizia Artioli created a sound installation that explores the invisible dynamics of public space as a boundaryless and data-rich environment. By sonifying the contents of a 7x7x7m invisible cube, she uncovers the hidden narratives and environmental signals embedded in the 49m2.

Edward Clydesdale Thomson is an artist, co-head of the Bachelor Fine Arts (BEAR) at ArtEZ Arnhem and founder of Stichting Landfall. He developed a remote-controlled siren for the Onlanden area that records and translates environmental triggers into image and sound. The resulting video offers a slowed, abstracted portrait of the landscape.

Britte Koolen creates modular sculptures and installations that enter into a tactile dialogue with their surroundings. Her work is rooted in craftsmanship, using various materials to slow down the pace in a world dominated by speed, urgency and excess.

Visit the exhibition in the StadsGalerij Breda, from 30 August until 28 September 2025.
