Great Northern, Stoer Bay, this morning. The water is so clear I could follow it under water for a while.
After stubbornly refusing to give up way after my meagre bash skills had peaked, my laptop now speaks the current weather and the offgrid battery voltage and incoming solar amperage. Unfortunately I have no way of getting wind amps into a computer at the moment. Data comes from a Pi now living in the battery shed. The script comes from the sweat of my brow.
Sometimes, the Zambretti forecast really misses the mark. A pic taken this morning, definitely no occasional rain at the moment...
This morning's songthrush tune comes via our bedroom window.
I haven't touched windows for 18 years, & thought I was on my way to recovery. But I have to make a change to an off-grid battery controller, & the software is windows-only. It runs under wine, but for some reason will not communicate with the controller.
A kind neighbour @Jkp lent me an old windows laptop for this simple task. It was at that stage that all the nightmares came flooding back...
Following on from the photo the other day of the head of a goldfinch, one has been queuing to get to one of the feeders, allowing me to take some snaps through the living room window. They are so flamboyantly colourful. These are separate pictures, not crops.

Our power station, in the unexpected bright sunshine this lunchtime
I've re-routed the wind charger cables and removed the in-shed ammeter, which simplifies the wiring and feels safer.
Today I also added an in-shed plug. One powers the mobile phone signal booster for inside the house, and the other is the shed light. Both of these previously just used a dangly extension cable.
