Satisfying. A video conversation going on downstairs from here in Scotland to family in Australia, via our own Nextcloud Talk. No privacy intrusion, no permissions needed, no restrictions (other than our own hardware & bandwidth). Works so well, in spite of the dreadful internet connection we have.

Woohoo. I'm on a roll here. Now added offgrid battery voltage and solar amperage to the weather page https://www.vasten.co.uk/weather

The data is collected by a Pi Zero in the battery shed, connected via a serial cable to the Tristar PWM controller. At night, the "Solar Amps" on the web page bit should disappear.

After stubbornly refusing to give up way after my meagre bash skills had peaked, my laptop now speaks the current weather and the offgrid battery voltage and incoming solar amperage. Unfortunately I have no way of getting wind amps into a computer at the moment. Data comes from a Pi now living in the battery shed. The script comes from the sweat of my brow.
