Für Windows 10 bietet Microsoft seit gut einer Woche keinen Support mehr an. Das bringt Nutzer*innen in Zugzwang, darunter auch die Bundesverwaltung. Das zuständige Digitalministerium weiß indes wenig darüber, welche Behörden und wie viele Rechner betroffen sind.

Der Aufwand, hierzu Informationen einzuholen, übersteige den Umfang einer „ansonsten üblichen Einzelberichtsanforderung“, heißt es.

Es gibt also nicht nur keine Strategie, es gibt nicht einmal Infrastruktur zur Verwaltung der Rechner.

Denn in einer gemanagten Umgebung einen Bericht zu bekommen, was läuft und welche Version drauf ist, ist normal nicht einmal ein Klick, sondern in etwa die Anzeige auf dem Begrüßungsbildschirm des Asset-Managements. Das ist ja schon notwendig, um bei einem Lizenzaudit nicht mit dem nackten Arsch im Wind zu hängen.

Aber was weiß ich schon.

Man fragt sich jedoch, wo die Grenze zwischen Inkompetenz und Sabotage genau verläuft.

One year, I had a chat with the fine people @suricata during the @cert_eu conference, and they were wondering why we didn't create an open source website for all the different rules (YARA, Suricata, and many others) — a place to allow comments, reviews, bundling, and integration with @misp.

We’ve just released the first beta version of the rulezet.org service! 🎉

The platform is open and publicly available and the entire back-end is fully open source.

It’s still in beta, so feedback is very welcome!
