We are thrilled to announce Shiny Assistant! 🎉

Have you ever had an idea for a great web app with #Shiny but something was holding you back? Shiny Assistant is an AI-powered tool that can help.

Ask it questions about Shiny, or to create a Shiny application from scratch, or to make changes to an existing application.

Welcome your knowledgeable colleague who is always ready to help out with your Shiny projects in both #RStats and #Python.

About to hop on a plane to head to #PositConf2024 but want a local coding assistant for inflight hacking? With #ollama and #Shiny for #Python you can bring a coding assistant with you!

1. Download Ollama from https://ollama.com/
2. Run `ollama run llama3.1:8b` to get a decent, light ~5GB model
3. Create a Shiny app from our Ollama chat template https://shiny.posit.co/py/components/display-messages/chat/#ai-quick-start
4. Set `model="llama3.1:8b` in `app.py`
5. `shiny run app.py`
6. Local coding assistant!

Ollama

Ollama is the easiest way to automate your work using open models, while keeping your data safe.

webR v0.1.0 has just been released! I'm super excited to see what people create by using webR in their own projects😃. The docs are at https://docs.r-wasm.org and I've written an introductory blog post talking more about the kind of things webR can do at https://www.tidyverse.org/blog/2023/03/webr-0-1-0/.
