@hisham_hm But you're not "J. Robert Oppenheimer" cool :P

But I guess it highly depends on local culture, to me it has a certain pretentiousness in Germany, because in the end we only have an upper bound of 100m people (including Austria and Switzerland) with German-sounding names, so name collisions for famous people are not that common. Can't even think of one example where I'd say the full name when talking about them. Also technically the grammatical definition might be slightly different.

@mhoye You've not had to install a printer for a while, I guess.
@acdw In at least 5 different languages, I hope. @tef
@leyrer Happy to bash the CSU government as the next person, but does it actually matter in this case? Was this a decision by the Bavarian government (as it's a country border) or the federal government? (Serious question, because I would have expected them to put that in effect at the Polish border as well then) So maybe driven by but not decided? Hmm @xahteiwi @mattb @chrisjrn

@tef There should be default background color or something which would define "this user is just ranting by default". :P

I do think it's mostly a problem of people with lots of followers though, for whatever arbitrary amount is "lots".

@phpc Hey, I just noticed that on every post on phpc.social (be it original or reposted) on the three little dots in the lower right I can't "copy link", unlike on other Mastodon instances - is there some deliberate reason for that?

I know I could "migrate" but I'm keeping this account for now, but currently I see these 2 as my active accounts:

I have/had a List on Twitter called "PL people" followed by bunch of people, it would be handy to have something like this here too! Are you involved with programming languages/compilers either in academia or the industry? Reply here so it can be easier for us to find each other!
@algernon The good old times when a cool subdomain was a lot better than just buying a domain. :D
