@phpc Hey, I just noticed that on every post on phpc.social (be it original or reposted) on the three little dots in the lower right I can't "copy link", unlike on other Mastodon instances - is there some deliberate reason for that?

I have/had a List on Twitter called "PL people" followed by bunch of people, it would be handy to have something like this here too! Are you involved with programming languages/compilers either in academia or the industry? Reply here so it can be easier for us to find each other!

I know this instance seems to have a little load problem today (like some others) but I just noticed I've not gotten any updates from some people in my "Home" feed here which is a bit weird.
Ignoring the last hour and scrolling back it's basically 100% people here @ mastodon.social - so it looks like it only fetches federated posts when I am logged in. This can't be true... I hope.

I'll never get why development on Windows has to be such a pain.

Linux "apt-get install g++ <qt...>" and it works.
Windows: Visual Studios + 3 Reboots and 30mins of googling later I can finally compile some hello-world-like Qt GUI project

This month, I fear for those who "grew up" and never let themselves create any more. Who have never expressed their feelings except by talking to people, and who are stuck at home alone for the first time in their lives, and are deciding to stream GoT or Walking Dead or something cheerful like that.

If you know this person, encourage them to take up... something. Anything. Pick up the childish thing they abandoned.
