In today's environment, where everyone wants to have results faster and fully automated (ideally using AI to mix some buzzwords into this), it's important that people see through all the activity and give it context.

Those people are called “architects” nowadays, and the ones that draw the big connections to an org are the Business Architects.

And our guest, Breanne Casteel, has created a YouTube series named “Business Architecture Explained” to shed some light on this topic.

Data governance—that is that boring topic where nerds hang out and not create any value for us poor people who run the business.

Think again. What percentage of your product is comprised of data and a well defined data product that enables it (and your sales)? Soooooo, how do you get to that? Right, by setting up a mature data governance function.

How many people here know if their org has an EA group? How is it perceived? Ivory Tower? Outdated? Slow? Old-fashioned?

Well, these are all things that I have seen in the past, and one of the reasons is that we like to be “correct,” which inevitably comes with things that are considered non-value-add by others.

So, how do you change that? That is why we invited Eetu Niemi, to our episode 101, and we speak bout how to make it more lightweight and increase its acceptance.

Sometimes you might not have the on-the-spot, latest buzzwords wielding, deep insights post.

Sometimes you just want to have a small announcement of a milestone—we just published our 100th episode of the little podcast.

And since partying alone makes you, well, alone, we invited four friends from Die Prozess Philosophen and BPM360Podcast to celebrate with us … and look what a beautiful (?) background Caspar created with the help of AI ;-)

Oh, BPMN … how much fun did we have in the past?

But you've grown stale and I wonder if it is not time for an update after almost 12 years. You know, we all change … and that is a good thing.

If you don't know where to start, why don't you start listening to (watching) the last two episodes of the What's Your Baseline? podcast?
J-M and I tried our best to lay out how we came to today, what people thought you were but aren't, and have some ideas on how to improve.

Wow, time flies ... and I completely forgot to announce TWO episodes of the podcast ...

Well, here is the first: in episode 98 we are speaking with Tony Phillips, a very experienced architect, about Business Rules and why they are one of the most underrated things that are (not) managed in today's organizations.

You find Episode 98 "Decisions, Decisions, ...." wherever you get your podcasts or at whatsyourbaseline.com/episode98

We are approaching our 100th episode and I just want to give a big "thank you" to all the guest we had on the show so far.

Without you, and YOU (the listeners of our shenanigans), we wouldn't be here 🙂

I am not sure how many folks will see this, but just to have it said, my second book, “Successful Process Mining Projects," was released today.

I am super proud of it (and it is the third book in our little @whatsyourbaseline imprint), and I hope that you will like it.

Take a look at the details here: whatsyourbaseline.com/spmp.

Gartner just rated Process Mining as "early mainstream," and there is the need to understand how you get started and what to do.

Well, we have spoken about this multiple times, but @rolandwoldt has written a book about it to help out.

In Episode 97 we speak about both—it is available where you get your podcasts now.

Nobody will deny that the introduction of AI technology will change how we work.

But what does that mean for BPM professionals? Do you still need processes embedded in an integrated management system? Or do they become even more important in the future?

Besides that you all might have a hunch what we might answer, we asked our guest Vassiliki Spentzou that question and she shared her experiences 🙂

Go listen to Episode 96 wherever you get your podcasts.
