The salt marsh moth (Estigmene acrea) is found throughout the USA; it's in the same subfamily as tiger, lichen, footman and wasp moths. We'll see 3-4 generations of this moth in the southern USA each year, while the rest of the country sees only 1 or 2. #entomology #backyardnature
Hey, #entomology and #backyardnature folks, here's an #iPhone #photography note...the zoom setting is preserved in the image's EXIF metadata. If you're on Windows, you'll find it in the Details tab in File Manager; on Linux, I use exiftool. Useful when reviewing pictures of small things...

Yikes - Federal legislation to require *operating system* providers (i.e. Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android, etc.) to implement age verification. Time to call your Congresscritters, folks; let's nip this in the proverbial bud.

Odd request here...can anyone recommend a USB #wifi dongle that works with #Debian 9 (kernel 4.4.0) without building a custom driver?

Yeah, I know, old old old...but it's a special-purpose device that can't be upgraded.

Someone REALLY doesn’t want to claim their Cybertruck… 😂
Spotted a dozen or so Waymo driverless taxis in Austin…and I noticed just how wide a berth human drivers gave them. NO ONE wanted to be near them…
Great burger!
Spent an hour here at the Museum of the Weird…kitschy, but fun!
Remember reading “The Random of Red Chief” and/or “The Gift of the Magi “? O. Henry’s house is a historic landmark in downtown Austin, Texas…

It would be good to see more state #legislatures follow this path - securing advisory opinions from their state judicial system before pushing questionable #legislation throuugh the process.

Maine Supreme Court says proposed ranked-choice voting expansion is unconstitutional

In a unanimous opinion, the justices said Maine's constitution makes clear that the first candidate to achieve a "plurality" of votes wins the races for governor and Legislature. As a result, it appears that voters won't be able to rank gubernatorial candidates in order of preference during the fall election.
