Visit us at #ILA!
We are present at this year's ILA to present our experiment and show some early hardware! You can find us in the booth of #bvsr between halls B and C. See you there!

#cirrus successfully launched on Wednesday! Our test-flight reached an altitude of about 36km and was successfully recovered shortly after landing. And we even recorded the #balloon bursting with one of the cameras on board!

We are launching a weather balloon! Next week, we will launch a small stratospheric balloon to test our hardware and see how our collection membranes behave while in the stratosphere. The lauch is conducted by MOVE-Up, our balloon-team at WARR MOVE, and features additonal payloads from the REXUS/BEXUS teams PEANUT and SHROOM!

Stay tuned for more on Mission Cirrus :)

We are officially on our way towards ESTEC! CDR here we come!

What is REXUS/BEXUS?

REXUS/BEXUS is a project from the german and swedish space agencies aimed at university students. As a team, you develop an experiment, with support from experts and launch it on a stratospheric balloon or rocket!

On Sunday, we submitted our documentation to the jury board leading up to the Critical Design Review (CDR). In the upcoming days, we will tell you more about our experiment and it's design, so stay tuned!

How do #microplastics reach every ecosystem on earth? Via the air!

Microplastics have been found to fall from the sky in the arctic and other remote locations, but little is known about how they behave in the atmosphere. Simulations show that these particles might even reach the stratosphere, but data is missing to confirm that. With PHILEAS, we hope to contribute to that research, launching a microplastic detector on a BEXUS stratospheric balloon!

What a surprise on the final stretch to submitting the CDR! Our campus cat Sammy joined us in our break to celebrate #caturday and give some en-purr-agement :)

The Girls'Day is an event where schoolgirls have the possibility to learn about jobs that are stereotypically done mostly by men. Since the REXUS/BEXUS programme stands for education PEANUT, SHROOMS and PHILEAS wanted to pass on a bit of the possibilities that were given to us.

In the event the girls had the possibility to try different insulation methods used in stratospheric balloons, simulate a balloon recovery, were able to make some vacuum experiments and had a parachute competition!

Introducing PHILEAS: We are a student project from Munich trying to make the first microplastic measurement in our stratosphere.
We are currently developing PHILEAS and the production and first tests have just started.
We are currently preparing for our Critical Design Review and are going to show you more of our work and our team soon.
