I've hit the 2000 DXCC challenge points a while back and finally sent away for my 2000 medallion. Took a lot longer than to go from 1000 to 1500! There are 3400 max possible if you work all 340 entities on all 10 bands (6-160m), which is pretty much impossible. Next stop 2500!
QSL Card of the day. Today I got confirmation of my 70cm Satellite contact with Greece via the now "kaput" (SK) GreenCube IO-117. I really miss working stations on this bird. Hope someone launches another one like it. But would settle for a geostationary one as well.
I have two 2m Yagi antennas and I use this super simple homebrew device to switch polarity at the antenna. Horizontal for SSB (ex. FT8) and Vertical for FM modes. The other end is a simple VHF capable antenna switch a the base. I labeled it V and H. Simple is good!
I was very happy to receive this. It is not often one gets mail, especially a QSL card from Kyrgyzstan. I only have a handful of contacts. Thank you Yuri for sending this! My mailman asked once about all the "weird" mail and asked what I do. Interesting conversation!
This is the largest Alpha Delta dipole there is and I had to get creative (including bending) to make it work in my yard. Covers 10-160m but you really need to have some elevation for it to work well. It does the job when installed properly and space is available.
Apparently my PC is doing OK…Some minor upgrades and I am in the 99th percentile? Wow!
The Sable Island Dxpedition - 2026 - CY0S is approaching. The dates are March 19th - March 31st, 2026

This is how my AntennaGenius was connected and labeled around the time I wrote my DX book. I had about 3 antenna changes since and more to come I am sure.
Two of my modified Motorola radios for 900Mhz use. These can be a little tricky to get going on the 33cm band but sound great once you get it all setup. I wrote about them in detail at https://w6aer.com
My old dual band satellite setup, in front is my 2m antenna and the "mushroom" is a GPS which feeds GPSDOs on my FlexRadio and my Icom 9700 via a signal splitter. I have upgraded my antennas since, but frankly this setup works for 98% of the birds out there.
