Taking a moment to add some details. My happy ghast has a home (though rather cramped) in order to ease mounting and dismounting. I do feel like there is too much white in this area and espeically from this angle. However, I like both the large base and the entrance to the nether as they are. I think this angle just needs to block out some of the white while you are riding the minecart track I am currently standing on.

The larger base has finally been completed. The interior is still to come as I try to get things organized. The new space will lead to better goals for new bigger projects going forward.

More building work completed today. Not too much progress on tackling the End, but it will come soon enough. Have some terriforming ideas that need doing in order to start to bring some of the area together.
But other times, it's just good to pause at a sunset and take in what is done.

End portal found and activated! Haven't gone through yet as I don't have all the equipment I need, so we'll see when I actually get around to taking on the end.
There are two cave systems crossing over the stronghold which have led to it being largely empty and broken up. One is a big open cave, while the other appears to be a lush cave system, except all that spawns is the clay and some small dripleaf.

Found an odd underground ruined portal. Was caving and saw this strange glowing section at the back of an open space. Turns out this portal has spawned a hole in the ground somehow. Everything was there, and nothing else seemed weird about it.
All in all a good caving sessions. I now have a full set of diamond armor for when I finally get around to finding the end portal.

Wanting to spend some time doing something else than finishing the larger base, I finally had about 10 ender pearls. I felt that this was enough to at least locate a stronghold, maybe not complete the portal. Never been very good at finding these things, so hopefully it doesn't take too long. Thankfully, I've got a lodestone and compass to make returning easier.

A Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and a happy holiday season. I made a little festive spot on my world by decorating a tree with gold, lapis, and redstone. Planned on adding diamonds, but can't justify that kind of use just yet.

Lots of smaller projects coming together nicely. Quite a few things to document coming up. I took the time to create a small map area that shows how much has been completed and where everything is spreading to. Need to make some connections between places as well so the map will help with planning that.

A simple day today, just adding some berry bushes in a small fenced in area. The other hope is that this cuts down on spawns over one this side of the river. Hoping to extend this field across the whole southern part of this area. It can be seen from the main base I've been working on.

Work on the larger base is coming along smoothly. The main entrance and one of the front facade's has been completed. Still the inside needs work and obviously the whole thing needs a roof.
In addition, my gear is reaching the desired enchantments for taking on the Ender Dragon. Not sure which one will get done first as I plan to beat the dragon as soon as I have all the gear enchanted.
