Making video games since the 90s!

I made Plasma Sky on my own and worked on the Torchlight games and Hob with teams of awesome folks.

Lots of hobbies, but mainly woodworking right now!

I made a sphere grid to test a vertex shader, and I'm getting kind of lost watching it

All done, looking forward to bringing it inside as soon as it’s less smelly.

This is to hold some computer stuff, but with a higher shelf it would be a pretty good end table. I need a couple of those so maybe I’ll make a solid wood version someday.

Edge banded, drilled holes, and screwed together. Ready for finish!

This is a quick power tool project, but my jack plane still did all of the stock prep besides cutting. It made it fast and pleasant. Even plywood edges are nice to plane. I remember taking tiny passes with the table saw to “sneak up on” a good fit. 🫠

The shelves were supposed to be flush with the corners, but I cut the rails too long so they’re inset. It looks much better this way. Saved by accidental design!

Working on a quick computer stand to solve a wiring disaster. Just needs edge banding and finish, will be hard to resist working on it instead of getting ready for Thanksgiving. It’s so close!

I ended up making a grooved piece to use with the beading tool’s fence. Worked good and it’s reusable until I lose it in the scrap pile.

How do you bead a tounged board? The tongue is super in the way.

I’m thinking about just making a grooved board to go over the tongue during beading, but maybe I’m missing a simpler solution.

Does anyone know what the tool in this picture is called in English?

Gyenes Tamás, a Hungarian man, uses it to cut grooves in medieval style chests, both for joinery and for decoration.

I’m just learning about riven tongue and groove and it’s so cool, making panels out of wedges and using the narrow part as the tongue.

I made a little step!

This was a fun experiment because I didn’t do any planning and just started chopping mortises with less overthinking than usual. I’m a little concerned about strength because it’s cedar and the aprons are kind of thin, but probably fine?

Really happy with the center bits though!
