🇪🇺 🚨11 AM #ChatControl vote: They want to crush our privacy. Pirate @marketkag.bsky.social won't surrender, and neither should you. 🏴‍☠️
Call your wavering socialist, liberal and national conservative MEPs right now. Win or lose today, they need to know we will NEVER accept mass surveillance of our private chats. Act:
☎️ https://fightchatcontrol.eu #StopScanningMe

The extent to which core linux projects are laying the groundwork for age verification is very concerning.

I understand why some believe they are compelled to do so, and why others feel that it may be better to implement the most minimal conforming implementation in the hopes of fending off something worse.

But the line must be drawn such that no threat can obligate an OS to collect/store personal information - without that freedom, we face an uphill fight to protect general purpose computing.

Repurposing idled and semiconstructed datacenters for indoor hydroponics is solarpunk as fuck.

🇪🇺 1/7 🌍 Foreign-funded lobby groups from outside the EU are pushing #ChatControl with misleading propaganda. They want to #PassTheLaw to scan your chats, but who are they and who's paying them? Let's expose the network.

Actions speak louder than words.

I am unable to install EU Login app in my phone because I use LineageOS and not the Google Spy Android.

Thus, I cannot use the double factor authentication, mandatory from the 25-02-2026 on unless I tell Google.

A frontal attack to our #privacy.

Stupid, no?

@EUCommission

🧐 Google’s plan would mean that all personal data of #FreeSoftware app developers on Android would end up with #Google, even apps distributed outside the Play Store, by forcing developers to register and hand over ID.

❌️ It raises barriers for small and volunteer projects, like @fdroidorg, and increases the risk of surveillance, censorship, and arbitrary bans against privacy‑protecting and critical apps.

@danbrotherston @domo @Techaltar he edited the post, better now.
@Techaltar Yes for the first sentence, but can you clarify what makes a thousand partners processing outlook data meaningfully different from selling user data? The data has to be shared to be "processed" and there must be a financial contract between these partners?
@Tutanota @volla to have a device that's mine and serves me, not a data collector for big tech
@Tutanota Wasn't this mandated and announced years ago? Seems that still only a vague "soon" is given.
