Product person in love with humanity & software. Cat lover. In Product since 2006. #prodmgmt #productmanagement
Human curious learner. 👋

The Product Trio is blurring. Everyone thinks they can do your job. They're not wrong. Now what?

AI is dissolving the walls between PM, design, and engineering. One person can increasingly hold all three dimensions.

But tools commoditize fast. The real moat is judgment: knowing what to build, for whom, and why.

Don't be fungible.

Just learned that #Anthropic’s #Claude will use user data for training unless you opt out by September 28, 2025. Wondering, if that‘s to be the new default for AI now?

I opted out. You might want to check your privacy settings too!

I've been working hard on myself over the last few years to focus more on asking rather than pitching. This has been one of my biggest challenges, as I was taught to approach things differently.

How do you handle this? Do you prefer to pitch or ask? Any advice or recommendations you’d like to share?

Read Seth‘s article for more insights: https://seths.blog/2024/06/are-you-pitching-or-are-you-asking/

Are you pitching or are you asking?

There are two easy ways to tell: First, if you have a script or a highlighted goal in mind, you’re pitching. You’re simply asking questions to create connection, tension or forward moti…

Some Monday morning wisdom:
Three stages of career development are:
1. I want to be in the meeting.
2. I want to run the meeting.
3. I want to avoid meetings.

Where are you heading?

Have a great week! 🎄

Major question: How do I create more value?

Create value

If your job feels like a dead end, it might be because you’ve traded agency and responsibility for the feeling of security. But real security lies in creating value. Creating value isn’…

Product trio: How are you dealing with it?
In a well-functioning organization, usually there isn't a handoff between product managers, designers and the engineering team. It's a collaboration between engineering, product, and design at every step of the process.

Org structures have an enormous impact on how work actually gets done inside an organization and represents the division of labor inside of a company.
Without understanding how this labor is divided, product managers will struggle to be effective, both at getting alignment and at getting products out the door and into the hands of customers. How do you approach this issue? Challenges? Changes?

Sometimes it's good to revisit older articles. Thankful, that John Cutler re-shared the three games of product engagement within his latest post.
Why? Because if your asking yourself which game your product is playing, it's worth having a look here. https://amplitude.com/blog/customer-engagement-strategy #productmanagement #prodmgmt

Every product is playing one of three games. Which one are you playing?
