#Jellify 1.1 is getting close to beta and I couldn’t be more excited 🪼
This version will feature a brand new player backend, designed and written in-house by the team.
This module manages resources better and handles downloads natively on the system 😎
It also comes with some tricks up it’s sleeve - like equalizer controls and gapless playback 🙂↕️
You can even drop it in your own #reactnative project!
I love it so much I even wrote a music app for it 😅
My music collection only has DRM-free music in it. My first goto for new music is always #Bandcamp. If it's not there, then #Qobuz, which has improved a lot but costs more. Both offer high quality FLAC downloads. Then it's hard to find music on #Cds, usually from local stores.
I don't purchase mp3, and I will never rent (to never own), my music.
I plan to listen to my music collection until I'm six feet under using my Jellyfin Server.
Howdy friends 🤠
ICYMI - You can support Jellify for as little as $1 on Patreon!
All proceeds cover the costs of licenses and keep us motivated on the project 💪 Patrons also get your name displayed in Jellify itself! 🤩 (Settings -> About)
For those that support at $5 or $10 - you’ll receive a sticker after 3 months 😊
Jellify is my new music client… and, it’s made in Wisconsin by @violexene
“Jellify is a free and open source music player for the Jellyfin Media Server. Built with React Native, it is available for both iOS and Android.”
@rasterweb cheers friend ☺️ thanks for the kind words! 💜
Me and my team are incredibly open to feedback - FYI 😉
And one more music app before I switch gears: @violexene’s Jellify. This is a cross-platform app, free and open source, with super fast development, and a super fast UX.
It’s a joy to use and while I’m one of those crazy people who adores Liquid Glass, if you don’t (or you’re on Android) it would be my number one recommendation for you. In fact I’ve already shared it with several friends.
@mnord yeah this sounds like a bug on our end, thanks for letting me know!
We’re working on making Jellify handle large lists of tracks better, currently there are a lot of network calls being made for each track and the component itself isn’t as performant as I would like it to be
Some fixes for this will be introduced in 1.0.12 and will continue to follow after!
#Jellify 1.0.11 is making its way to storefronts now!
This comes with some improvements to the Home Screen and CarPlay, and Jellify will now keep track of where you left off in a track 🤓
