Happy to connect with all art lovers and those who would like to learn to draw and paint.
Under the hashtag #DrawingFromImagination, I write about my experiences reading a book «Keys to Drawing with Imagination» by B. Dodson.

Detox Doodles!

This is a habit of drawing something every time I feel the urge to scroll unnecessarily. It helps stop the bad habit and start a new good habit of sketching daily!

Double spread of wombats, who were hard to draw!

"They were three months passing through the forest", an illustration (for Old French Fairy Tales, 1920) by Virginia Frances Sterrett who died of tuberculosis #onthisday in 1931, at the age of just 30. it's a process
My first attempts at #DrawingFromImagination exercises. The first chapter focuses on doodling, which feels like a form of artistic meditation to me. I’m trying to follow the process and stay open to any ideas that come to mind. Interestingly, I’ve already had a sudden inspiration for a painting, sparked by a recent interaction with my friend’s children. However, creating that painting is a different challenge — I don't have a clear vision for it yet, so there’s still work to be done.
At 10-12 years old, I was always sketching—at school, at home, doodling whatever came to my mind and turning it into detailed drawings. Somewhere along the way, that girl disappeared. I wish I could find her again.
Realized I can’t draw from imagination, and honestly, I’m a bit bored of just replicating reality. Time to wake up my creativity. Started Bert Dodson’s «Keys to Drawing with Imagination» and doodling daily. 2025 is going to be my year of imagination. Let’s see where this goes! #drawingfromimagination

I’ve enjoyed drawing this fluffy boy so much! The drawing is sent as a present to the owner of the cat 🐱

I’m trying a new way of painting with oil pastels. I’ve used smooth paper and applied the pastels in many layers. The subject is also unusual for me: animals! It’s not completely new to me, but I draw animals so rarely that it’s interesting in itself.

I feel that drawings with animals or people resonate more with viewers. What do you think?

Fragment of my painting I’ve been working on this week. Love how the umbrella turned out.
