Anthropic has thwarted an extensive cyber espionage campaign targeting global tech companies, financial institutions, and gov agencies. The novelty is that the campaign was orchestrated by AI. The attackers exploited Claude Code and AI agents to autonomously carry out 80-90% of the operations, from recon to data theft, with minimal human intervention.
