a bit old and a bit scrubby
Good morning, SNK just dropped that Ken and Chun-Li are DLC for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Because at least @dolari would be interested, the non-DVD, non-artbook portion of the backer rewards for the Dirty Pair re-dub arrived this morning. Not shown is the 20% off coupon for the Crunchyroll store.
As long as I'm at AnimeNYC, I might as well get "see a Broadway show" off the bucket list
Can't beat the view after we're done singing, either
Not me sneaking a pic of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra before singing in front of it with the work choir, no sir
Took some pics today
Men's NCAA Tournament recap, First Four and Round of 64:

The basketball is good except when it isn't. Two painful games of note: Boise State/Colorado in the First Four, which I had the privilege of witnessing personally (Grambling State/Montana State was superior in every facet, including the bands). Three-point shots were attempted. Less than one-in-six were made. The second bad game was FAU/Northwestern, where Northwestern couldn't hit its three-pointers for 3/4 of the game. But, hey, not every game can be a boat race like Florida/Colorado...huh, worst First Four game and best round of 64 game, both with Colorado. Go Buffs, I guess.

Conference breakdown:
ACC: 4-1 this round, including a First Four loss. A misseeded Colorado State preferred to play basketball and ran over Virginia. Everyone not in the First Four was just fine.
A10: 2-0 this round. Dayton held off Nevada, and Duquesne would remind you that winning the Atlantic 10 is no small feat. Dayton gets Arizona while Duquesne plays Illinois.
Big East: 3-0 this round. You had to be very good to make the tourney from the Big East this year. No loss from the high seeds they deserved.
B1G: 4-2 this round. Purdue kept control in their opener this time, and MSU got the slight upset. However, Wisky kept losing the ball to JMU and Nebraska couldn't get going.
Big XII: 5-3 this round. Texas Tech getting beat by NC State was a bit of a surprise; the other two losses less so. (I called Duquesne.) Otherwise, the conference took care of business.
MWC: 3-4 this round, including going 1-1 in the First Four. Question 1: why are two teams from the same conference in the First Four? Question 2: why is Colorado State there at all when they beat Creighton and Colorado? They lose in the Round of 64 after exposing Virginia to basketball. Six teams is hard to justify, but they did going in and are working to justify in the tournament itself.
PAC-12: 5-0 this round, including a First Four win. It is their last dance, and they choose not to leave early. See Colorado above.
SEC: 3-5 this round. Maybe Greg Sankey's teams could win their openers, and then maybe their eight bids would be fine. Calipari may be fired, Barkley's taking L's at the desk, and Florida was just short on jetskis. 'Bama is their best hope.
WCC: 1-1 this round. Gonzaga wins its first-round games. Saint Mary's does not offer such a guarantee, and they get booted in the cursed 5-12 matchup.

Upset count from the round of 64 is 11/32. I'll wait for the second round to come in, but over 31% is a thing. The committee did cite a large number of bid thieves, including the winner of the Mountain West tourney, Utah State, which, no, and if you believed that you would have seeded them below the First Four line. They did have difficult mode on this year, and appear to have folded as a result.

But, anyway, games are on - I'm adding some First Four pics and watching some games.
Here, have a photodump from the first couple of days from #PAXWest2023.
So, voted today, though in lieu of the poll worker sticker I would usually have with this, I have the medication that is my reason for not being a poll worker today.

"But how do you vote on election day (as opposed to absentee) and not walk into a building with people you would be infecting," you ask? Well, Ohio actually has this covered - it's called curbside voting.

First, drive to your polling location. OHIO IS A STICKLER ON HAVING YOU VOTE AT THE PRECINCT ASSIGNED FOR YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS. Next, you need to get the attention of the Precinct Election Officials (PEO's) inside; they may have a person or two assigned to keep an eye out, but it probably works better to ask another voter going inside to let them know they have a "curbside voter".

They will send two people out to help you, from differing parties, because auditing is important (and really more than half of a voting process, tbqh). They will then start by doing what they'd do at a roster table - ask for acceptable ID (Good news, US Passports are acceptable in Ohio now! Bad news, utility bills are no longer acceptable), ask you to state your name and current address, and write stuff down on a pink envelope. They will hand this pink envelope for you to look at and sign. They'll then head back inside for a bit.

After the PEO's verify you're in the poll book and haven't voted (or asked for an absentee ballot), you're in the right location, find and log the paper ballot they're bringing out to you, and hopefully sterilize things, they'll both come back out with the envelope and a paper ballot. Fill in the circles (completely, as instructed) as you wish, then fold the ballot loosely in half and stick it in the pink envelope. At this point, you seal the envelope, which you can lick but, as neither I nor the voting location manager felt like offering COVID-19 samples, a spare vote sticker was used in my case.

They then take the envelope back inside, and you're done! They both sign at the bottom as well, and do any further logging as necessary. If there are issues, such as "you moved or changed your name", you may end up voting provisionally, and may have some follow-up on a later day.

Remember that polls in Ohio close at 7:30 P.M. Also, note that this is a method where you are not in a line, so you will want to let them know you're out there before 7:30. But, if you didn't get an absentee ballot and you can't walk into the polling location, this is an option and I encourage you to vote however it has to happen.
Get you a coat that can do this
