It’s been a challenging garden season this year. I’ve had 7 roses succumb to Rose Rosette Disease. It’s a virus, no cure and very contagious so I had to dispose of the roses. But today’s joy is another, Princesse Charlene de Monaco with a sweet candy like perfume.
On Saturday Mrs. Vicar and I took the morning off to cycle a 30 mile @bikes.and.beers charity ride on our @icetrikes It was a great day out! #recumbenttrike#icetrikes#bikesandbeers
Today’s joy is at the wildlife pond with Iris ensata, Filipendula ulmaria (meadowsweet) behind, and Spigelia marilandica (Indian pink) at the front. Have a safe weekend. #inmygardentoday#pondlife#wildlifepond
Today’s joy is Valerian, (Valeriana officinalis). It has a unique balsamic perfume. The roots and rhizomes are used as a seditive. Historically used to treat insomnia, migraine, fatigue, and stomach cramps. No cottage garden can be without it. #cottagegardenflowers#inmygardentoday#valerianaofficinalis
