Chicago → Pacific Northwest. The Empire Builder spans 3,500 km in ~46 hours, crossing the Mississippi, Great Plains & Glacier National Park 🚆
With sleepers, dining car & panoramic lounge, it’s built for slow travel.
At viaduct, more timetable data is coming soon also outside Europe, along with improved US routing.

Private rail in Europe has been expanding recently 🚄

New routes:
Paris–Berlin (European Sleeper)
Amsterdam–Hamburg/Berlin (GoVolta)
Vienna–Villach (WESTbahn)
Warsaw–Kraków (LEO Express)

Which ones have you already tried?

Spend the weekend adding a ton of old trips to @viaduct_world

Been on a lot, a lot still to go!

Fjord to mountain ❄️
A short ride from Narvik up to Bjørnfjell.
The Ofotbanen was built for moving ore, and that’s still a big part of what runs here 🚆
Mostly a steady climb, with views opening up along the way.
irregular reminder for train nerds that viaduct.world exists and is actually really good for logging train trips

they're also on fedi 👋 @viaduct_world
Romania is a special destination for rail travel. Some journeys feel like a step back in time, especially aboard CFR Class 77 railcars – vehicles over 90 years old still running regional services. Add scenic routes like the Olt Valley and the experience becomes unforgettable. 🌄
Already wondering why we haven’t posted any app updates lately?
There’s a reason: we’re currently busy working on a larger viaduct update with many new features. 🚆 The update is planned for spring 2026. Expect new ways to explore, connect and log your journeys.
More details soon — stay tuned 🙂
Southern Shortcut ☀️🚄
First spring sun = head south.
Yesterday we travelled from Vienna on our first ride on the new Koralmbahn — a real gamechanger for southern Austria. Carinthian lakes (and even Italy) just got closer.
Bonus: tried the brand new WESTbahn trains starting service today.

@lunax Thank you for your feedback.

A major update is planned for March/April, which will also include additional timetable data.

In the meantime, manually adding trains is always an option in areas where we don't yet have timetable coverage.

@darkphoenix @moof Fixing the time zone issues is a high priority for us, but it’s complex—especially when third-party data is involved. We hope our major update in March/April will resolve this.
Greetings from Austria.😊
