“Convidando está la noche” is a villancico (a christmas carol for church use) composed in the 17th century by Mexican composer Juan García de Zéspedes. The song is a genuine example of Mexican Baroque music as it reflects the multicultural and popular aspects of the society of the time.
The chorus is a Guaracha, a rapid dance style, probably of Spanish origin.
