How does economic complexity correlate with human development?
On today's #gisday I'll share my first attempt at a bivariate chloropleth map.
Admittedly, there's a lot going on and 25 tints can be hard to distinguish, plus I tried to keep it as accessible as possible marrying two accessible color ramps: Mako and Viridis.

This #map was supposed to show tints from Orange 🍊 to Purple 🟣

High income and a booming economy in Munich do not necessarily make people happy.
Meanwhile, the citizens of Oberhausen enjoy a good quality of life, despite having lower incomes and high unemployment.

I've playing around with #QGIS to visualize nationalities of participants in a scholarship programme I coordinate.
Should I stick to relevant information only, or add hill shading, just because I can? I feel it adds a bit of visual interest to the map ...
