@stephenfry it is a little confusing, but we're all here to help. There are both guides and also many people willing to help (either here or in any other format that works for you).

A few things:
- Hashtags and boosting are important. There is no curation here. Likes are between you and the poster, nothing else.
- Instances (terrible name) help to form communities, but at the end of the day you can follow cross instance (and even outside Mastodon with things like Pixelfed).

@markmcelroy I'm looking from outside and the one problem I have with any of these Tana, Notion etc, is that it doesn't live on my HD.

One of my core rules is open formats (markdown, etc), but also not bound by the success or failure of a company.

Not that I think people 10k years from now will want my want my notebooks, but I have stuff from 20 years ago I can't open any more.
