@leip4Ier you have no idea how happy that makes me to hear you doing it for the right reasons 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽😊😊😊 I too have run into and declined offers to join token scams or startups focused on the money instead of the change of centralization ideology we’re caught up on. There are very few “true to the heart” projects. And don’t burn out! Don’t give up on those anarchist dreams. It’s those principles that’ll provide us a more open, peaceful, and free future 😊 *gets off my soapbox*
@leip4Ier way cool! And me? ish. My friends and I officially started a cryptocurrency consulting business recently, but we haven’t gotten too far with it because life threw curveballs and we are all moving or have moved to different parts of the country. My studies and career is infosec based, so I’ve been pretty much entrenched in that lately. But I try to keep up any solidity knowledge with personal projects. And unfortunately, I don’t work explicitly in blockchain. So congrats to you! 🙌🏽

@leip4Ier hey! Someone in the blockchain industry! 😎 I don’t wanna ask any intrusive questions (it’s mastodon, right?), so call me out if questions are too identifying.

Is your work within the ethereum ecosphere?

@leip4Ier that’s crazy. And it’s so weird. I’m sorry you’re in that type of environment. Idk but at least for me when employers go the whole “hidden camera” route, it leaves security and becomes surveillance. And that can be easily abused.
@leip4Ier did they take it a step further and put these cameras in places “they shouldn’t be surveilling”, such as a restroom or something? But yeah definitely can be illegal depending on where you’re located.
@superruserr hey thanks so much for the insight/advice! It really helps. Is the learning curve you spoke of referring to acclimating to the specific modes/channels of communication and business processes within the remote company? Thanks again for investing your 2c. Hopefully I can bring in a multiplied ROI with it 👍🏼
@jerry thanks for the info! But I also had I a question since you manage a remote team and are a remote executive: as someone just starting his infosec career, should I put off thinking about remote work until I’m more experienced (~5-10 years)? Or do you see junior/low level analyst positions as part of these remote companies or teams? I currently work in an office but don’t know if it’s a good idea/a possibility as of right now or maybe not. Thanks.
@aussierockman ah ok. Yeah that makes sense for sure. Thanks for the response!
@aussierockman so I’m a complete noob in infosec and I have a question: what are the sort of backdoors that nation-states request? Do these backdoors tend to be hardware, firmware, or software? I see the term “backdoor” all the time but I never know what that entails. All I have for reference are some NSA TAO tactics, such as installing beacon firmware; but I wanted to know of other tactics/strategies. Thanks!
