My Retroid Pocket Classic arrived in the mail right before the holidays and I’ve been busy with it ever since! Here’s a side-by-side comparison with the original Game Boy Color in Atomic Purple.

I squeezed in a little hobby time this afternoon at lunch and swapped my Gameboy Advance’s glacier shell for a transparent one. The teardown was pretty straightforward and went surprisingly smooth.

My transparent Wii shell arrived in the mail sometime ago and I finally made some time to put it all together. I never fully realized just how many screws went into this thing, but thankfully they all went back in! I love how beautiful this thing is!

Ordered a new shell to update my DualShock 4 controller. Found out that the seller sent the wrong shell mid-teardown so I was only able to modify the buttons and back plate. The buttons seem like they need a little extra effort to press, but pretty decent as a spare controller. Shoulder buttons are a little mushy though >:(

Did a blind taste test as another one of our Christmas activities. Colas were the first group, clear sodas came second, and then we finished off with orange sodas. Colas were the most difficult to identify, but I’d love to run the experiment again next year with more variety or even another beverage or food.
