I'm wondering as Threads is gaining popularity how will it affect Mastodon and its fediverse as Threads seems to want to integrate into the fediverse so they are both compatible,

Will the fediverse gain popularity alongside threads? and how will Meta monetize Threads?

I do not want to see what happened to Twitter and Reddit happened here, if meta can't gain profit on Threads then the whole thing could fall apart.
