@janamarie The max width for the overmolding of Type-C cables is 12.85 mm but, as you probably have had this problem yourself, some cables exceed this.

@gsuberland@miek If you have a USB3 expansion card (easiest way), you can use the XHSETT tool from USB-IF to force the card in compliance mode and use Ping.LFPS signals (just 2 cycles 20mhz 50% duty cycle signals) to cycle through each compliance pattern specified in 6.4.4 of the USB 3.2 spec
