This is the less tech-y, more social alt for https://infosec.exchange/@varx — but it's still going to be full of nerd stuff, naturally.

@_thegeoff I might be on board with that. But could we also do it in a way that gives all the debris low-albedo coatings?
of course, claude code would start several sub-billies and send them to different supermarkets then aggregate the results of whichever billies made it back, and throw out everything that doesn't match the description of vanilla extract, which was generated by another billy. billy returns with a bottle of soy sauce, which mommy merges into production i mean puts in the baked goods because it passed the test suite that billy wrote (is it brown? is it liquid? is it edible?). the dow soars

@_thegeoff I like the idea, but I'm having a hard time seeing this as something other than a person in a bag. (I can't tell their actual position, but I know they're in there.)

In the right headspace, or with different context, I think it might look cooler and more abstract. I don't know how to make that happen, though.

2010: Whee, I'm a software engineer!

2015: Hmm, can I really claim "engineer"? We're not *that* rigorous.

2020: Actually, yeah! Some of this really is engineering!

2026: Never mind. We're a bunch of fucking clowns.

@socketwench Unfortunately, most residential solar installations in the US are also anti-islanding. This is kind of crazy to me, but I guess people don't want to shell out for the hybrid inverter and battery that would allow their panels to act as backup generators. (That, and probably hostile electrical code in some areas.)

@reverseics One of my coworkers came up with the following:

- One browser bookmark to log into SSO, to be used first thing in the morning.
- A bookmark *folder*, to be used with Firefox's "Open all in tabs"/middle click, second thing in the morning. It contains the SSO shortcuts for everything she uses in a normal week.

Once the dust settles, she's all logged in, and doesn't get interrupted for the rest of the day.

@jp Do they have to be operational? :-)

Anyway, I'm noticing a suspicious bump around 8. The octopi have infiltrated fedi.

@lowqualityfacts That and white pepper. The secret ingredient is always white pepper.
