I came to the realization today that with the rise of low cost 3D printers there has never been a better time to make your own plotter. Just print up a pen holster and constrain the Z axis and you're 90% of the way there.

@bearmine Speaking of disposable pens, have you tried the Pilot V Pen? I have been pretty satisfied with these. I bought my first one for the novelty of having a nib as I had never tried one. Now I use the fine line weight ones all the time.
