But, I think #FDroid is already more relying on informal social contracts and platform effects than the legal system. There could be a chance that this model prevails, even if intellectual property rights become entirely unenforceable for the FOSS community.

US administration is using #tracking data from a legitimate app for asylum seekers to target people for deportation. If this plays out like in Germany a century ago, I suspect we'll see a lot more of that targeting all sorts of people including political opposition and minorities. I wonder what that'll mean for publishing #FOSS #apps.
