I am using #Thunar as my #filemanager and #Ghostty as my #terminal. One thing that bugs me is that clicking "open terminal here" in Thunar opens Ghostty in the default working directory instead. I just fixed this today by changing the command to `TERM_PROGRAM=dumb exo-open --working-directory %f --launch TerminalEmulator`, i.e., adding an environment variable `TERM_PROGRAM`. The value does not matter, but it has to have some value for exo-open to work. No idea why.

For some (I guess good) reasons, Z-Library enabled proof-of-work bot protection. When you visit the homepage without correct Cookies, the server returns a different HTML than the usual one with a status code 503, and it has a JavaScript challenge that the user's browser has to solve to get the correct Cookies. This unfortunately breaks my auto-updating workflow on my phone with Obtainium.

My bike just decided to fail me again today by completely cutting off the chain and having it drop to the ground while I was riding it. Fortunately, I have a second bike that I can use in this very occasion. To be honest, the maintenance work required for the bike is exceeding my expectations. I have to fix some parts of it every year.

I just realized that #GNOME removed #X11 support starting from version 49 when I try to upgrade to #NixOS 25.11. Because I still rely on X11, it is time for me to migrate to another #desktopenvironment.
