This morning the High Court in London has issued its first global #FRAND licensing decision since the landmark Unwired Planet ruling in 2017, confirming the approach taken by Birss J in that case. It’s a chunky 225 page read and my and colleagues’ thoughts on the decision are at the link below 👇🏽

The question of whether artificial intelligence (AI) systems can own and transfer patent rights in the UK is to be considered by the UK Supreme Court in a hearing on Thursday 2 March.

When back in Gibraltar we like to visit (and donate) to the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park which houses animals, such as this marmoset, that were found on ships in the harbour and that were being illegally trafficked into Europe.
Went for an #openwater swim in Gibraltar harbour today. Sea calmer and less choppy than I’d expected. Nice to be back swimming in the Med.
Staffing issues require a novel approach to recruitment.

This is great by @davidallengreen on the spectacle of Owen Paterson, who called for repeal of the Human Rights Act and even 'breaking free from the ECHR,' taking his case to the European Court of Human Rights.

His lawyers say despite the irony 'he has no other choice' - 'And that is the very point of human rights law... They are all there as a last resort, for those with no other choice' - like the migrants Paterson complained about.
