Wild orchid blooming at my place. I think it may be an epidendrum nocturnum. This one was at eye level, which was fantastic because they're usually very high up in the trees 🥰

3D Saturday here, and another marine shot from the aquarium. I think I've posted another anaglyph for this same shark some time ago. This is one of these lucky anaglyphs done by movement of the subject rather than the camera - the tail though can have some ghosting but with some focusing the eye can merge the two images into one (at least to my eyes).

Gender enthusiasts, the latest Accented Cinema is on the history of women playing male parts in Chinese cinema, a thing i didn't know was a thing!

Some of these examples definitely work for me.

(There's some examples in the video of men dressed as women in like, a straight up transphobic way, jsyk, totaling fifteen or twenty seconds.)

The valiha, the national #Instrument of Madagascar, is a tube zither made from bamboo with 21 to 24 strings. These run over small moveable calabash or wooden bridges, and were traditionally made from bamboo strips, but later unwound bicycle brake cable, piano wire, and guitar strings were used. The name valiha is sometimes also used for related zithers like the marovany, a box zither considered to be an evolution of the valiha.
