Over the last few weeks here in Scotland it has barely gotten really dark at night, but slowly the nights are getting longer again and the stars are showing in the sky. We pulled out the camera in the early night for a few shots and lo and behold, they were visible. There were no spectacular shots, but at least we have a small proof. After the strenuous hike on the Suilven was now first to rest. The area between Lochinver and Ullapool in the Assynt offers not only an excellent hiking area, but also has some beautiful bays and sandy beaches. A dreamlike place for the camper can be found at Achnahaird Beach. One stands somewhat elevated on the rocks and has a beautiful view over the bay. With a little luck you can even watch dolphins here.

It is not high and with its 731 meters it does not belong to the Munros, those mountains in Scotland that are over 3000 feet high (914m).
