I do get juiced
To see each boost
And another Puzzler
Comes home to roost!
Thanks to all you kind Fedifolk!
I lead the Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) which are the same org and mission but with different financial structure.
Since 1993 I have been collecting & sharing ideas others can use to fight poverty & inequality & help volunteer-based tutor/mentor orgs in Chicago area grow in more places (including the single tutor/mentor program I led from 1993 to 2011).

This graphic shows that a Chicago youth-serving org called B.U.I.L.D attended 12 conferences between 1994 and 2015. See a Network Mapping tool created by IVMOOC students at Indiana University. https://tutormentorexchange.net/mapping-participation
I hope this inspires others to track participation and help attendees connect in between conferences.
My goal since forming the Tutor/Mentor Connection in 1993 and the Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC in 2011 has been to "enlarge the youth program slice of the giving pie" so each program benefits from greater support. I wrote this article in 2009 to describe this goal. https://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2009/08/literacy-roundtable-in-chicago-shows.html
Sadly, too many youth programs are so caught up in their own struggle to find and keep donors that they don't make time to work together to increase the slice of the funding pie available to each of them.

Since 2008 I've been showing uses of #GIS #maps, using this blog. Today I'm showing the Cook County, IL Community Data Snapshots dashboard.
Take look. https://mappingforjustice.blogspot.com/2026/03/population-households-data-cook-county.html
Does your city have a data dashboard like this?

*GenAI (Blech!)*
My rhymes are quite often silly,
With some metaphors none too frilly.
Even when sent out tranquilly
Their reception may well be chilly.
But here is my major thrust.
I don't want to write sloppy cruft.
No AI in my writing (for trust)
Not that I'm saying you must.
But if you do want me to read
Your poems, your stories or screed,
Be one of the wide human breed,
If you hope that your writing I'll heed.
