thank u firefox, really makes u think about the less fortunate
I do like the difference between, say, Digikey orders and CPC ones. Digikey gives you printed labels with 2D barcodes and everything, CPC is a handwritten label with the product code and count and hopefully you can read what the digits are
I probably should've expected this

Oh hey, making sure all the surface mount passives on the bottom were properly attached is all I needed for success! Now just to test its controller input, and also fix the cartridge slot

Well I think this might actually be my replacement PC Engine PCB working first time, or at least one of the video channels looks plausible on an oscilloscope and I'm pretty amazed I've not had to fix anything to get to that stage

This is the PC Engine I impulse bought in Japan, which then never worked, probably first because the ribbon cable was fragile and had broken, and then because of all the damage I'd done when reworking the PCB (I hate old PCBs), despite my best efforts to check for broken traces. The next step is to move over the 69-pin rear connector, which is not a desoldering job I'm looking forward to

The PCB was ordered from JLCPCB using https://github.com/Board-Folk/PC-Engine

Ah yes, the three genders

Oh damn, I could've got a Streetpass hit if only I'd taken my 3DS to Download Festival

Do you ever feel like you're being watched?

Edit: apparently this is a TomTom battery connector, which I suppose makes sense given that it's a TomTom camera

Dear Lazyweb,

Does anyone have any idea what this connector is? It's from a battery pack, but I don't think that necessarily helps since I think it was custom made for this device. I think the most distinctive features are how wide the plug and socket are relative to the number of pins, and also how the keying is just a wider flat bit on one of the long edges.

I think the pitch is 0.8 1mm, and for the plug its thickness ranges from 1.5 to 1.9mm, and the width from 5 to 7.2mm

(I also really appreciated Tusky I guess being told to sleep whilst I was taking additional pictures so I had to write this all again)

Edit: I think it's actually more likely to be 1mm from measuring the exposed socket PCB connectors, but I could still be mis-measuring
