This #caturday I have sad news. Niko has been a member of our family for ten years and he gets an annual checkup--last year all his levels were fine. This year we discovered that he has early stage heart and renal failure.

Niko has started a kidney diet, but we can't treat his heart. The heart meds are too hard on the kidneys so we can't treat it.

This is starting to feel like a prolonged goodbye 😭
