Socialist, urbanist, atheist, lots of ist and a vegetarian too.
I'm an old cynic who's not willing to drink any coolaid. My heroes are MLK Jr and Tommy Douglas, but cancel culture is real and horrible too. Maybe it's my autism but I just can't tolerate any group that villifies dissent.
I'm also a programmer of remarkable speed if not talent, and know enough science to actually understand the research (and get in trouble for doing so).
#toronto using a #bikelane as convenient vehicle storage. Not like that has killed anyone recently, right?
#Snow! Real snow, not the tiny amount I usually have to settle for since moving to #toronto
It's even going to be warm enough today for peak snowman and snow fort experience. (Too cold and powdery this morning.) All children, outside asap!
(It also wasn't my turn to shovel the walkway.)
Tried out line 6 #TTC (for the transit loving boy not pictured).
Nice trains but WOW they are slow and spend forever at red lights.
Just a normal November day.
Did you swap your tires for winter tires, #toronto drivers? (Or just don't drive.)

The #Scarborough Bluffs near Bluffer's Park, but looking from the other side. The waterfront trail might get extended through here, and this section is one of the challenges, as there aren't many intact sections left. Most of the bluffs have become more of a tree-lined slope, on purpose to protect the land above.

How would you build a walking and cycling path across this gap without destroying the rare ecosystem?

My friend decided her pose was artistic and worthy of black and white.
Me and the #StrongTowns contingent after the protest at Queen's Park in #Toronto.
#Ontario and #dougford are about to get rid of #bikelanes on roads in every city. This is going to make #congestion and #traffic much, much worse, but they're pretending the opposite. One speaker pointed out this is even going to be terrible for new #housing thanks to limitations of parking and traffic.

A minor example of good density and #urbanism in #toronto. An engaging and beautiful street level, profitable for business and the city too. Then, you look up and realize there's also homes or offices for thousands of people.
This is how you build #towers without slicing a hole in the #urbanfabric.
Also, mostly protected bike lanes!

Kingston Road, #Toronto, looking east near Midland, 2024.
Let's call it "before" and hope we get to see "after" soon. This #stroad needs fixing!
