In late March, the aurora borealis illuminates the night sky over sparse spruce trees on the Granite Tors Trail near Fairbanks, Alaska.

We're still amid the midnight sun in Fairbanks, but losing nearly five minutes of daylight daily. We are still a month away from nautical twilight when our chances of seeing the aurora increase significantly.

A set of photos from today’s visit to Katori Jingū in Chiba Prefecture, around 70km east of central Tokyo. It’s quite an effort to get there by public transport, but the magnificent shrine and the calm natural setting are worth it ❤️

Unprocessed iPhone shots.

Robbie Shepherd was a great champion of music, the arts and the Doric language, during his life. And now, a series of legacy projects have been devised by his great friend, Robert Lovie. These include two bursaries to encourage young people at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow and the Elphinstone Institute at Aberdeen University. Robbie would approve! #RobbieShepherd #Doric #RobertLovie https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/lifestyle/6499949/robert-lovie-robbie-shepherd-legacy-projects-memory/
