Unironically contemplating imaging all my #Linux systems with #MLP PonyOS or Hannah Montana Linux because it will never have #AIslop enabling #systemd 260-rc3 or newer.
At least until I throw together a distro derivative with a base on a distro with an AI slop free policy, doesn’t use systemd for init, and then swap the DE for Cosmic. Who knows how long that will take to find and make.
Between Debian contemplating jumping the shark last weekend and systemd doing it this week… I’m so tired. I just want an OS community that builds and maintains something stable, atomic, and with CosmicDE
started really learning #selfhosting and getting into #linux and #foss more generally in november. Immediately hit by the ram crisis, google android developer lockdown, a wave of os id laws from various us states, communities closing their doors b/c or making deals with ai companies, thosr same foss projects beibg inundated with slop... all I can say is:

RezI don't have a "problem" with spinning up new containers on my home server - look at that; I've got, like, 70-some containers running on there. It's no problem for me at all! Oh. That's not what you meant? I have a "problem"? And this is an intervention?....

Tharindu Danushka😍 Just switched to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. My Windows setup was eating 4GB+ RAM just sitting on the desktop. Open 2-3 browser tabs? Boom 5.5GB gone.
On Ubuntu? The entire system is idling at a crisp 1.7GB.
With RAM prices so high, Linux is the smartest hardware upgrade you can get. Plus, it came with every app I need right out of the box.
The best PC upgrade in 2026 isn't a new stick of RAM, it's a USB drive with Linux.
